The TSSAA football season begins with the matchup of the season.
Baylor hosts Brentwood Academy on Aug. 20 in a rematch of last season's Division II-AAA state championship game in Chattanooga.
Baylor five-star running back David Gabriel Georges
opens his senior season with high expectations after averaging more than 10 yards per carry in 2025. The Tennessee commit is a two-time Tennessee Titans Mr. Football award winner.Brentwood Academy wide receiver Kesean Bowman leads the Eagles offense into its biggest challenge of the year. Bowman, the four-star Tennessee commit, was No. 1 on the Tennessean's preseason Dandy Dozen list of the best players in the area.
But there are more college football prospects of note for both programs, including Baylor
QB Keegan Croucher (Ole Miss commit), Baylor tight end Braxton Rein (four-star prospect in 2028 class), Brentwood Academy linebacker Kenneth Simon II (Tennessee commit) and Brentwood Academy offensive lineman Li'Marcus Jones (Colorado commit).
The game between two heavyweights in the state's largest private school classification will be available to a national audience on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. CT.
