Nashville International Airport added another international nonstop destination to its roster Sept. 10. Volaris, an ultra-low-cost airline based in Mexico City, will make its Tennessee debut Oct. 15 with the launch of flights to and from Guadalajara, Mexico.
"Volaris' arrival in Nashville marks an important milestone in the expansion of our international service for the Middle Tennessee region," Nashville airport President and CEO Doug Kreulen said in a statement. "This new nonstop route to Guadalajara gives our travelers direct access to one of Mexico's most important cultural and economic hubs, along with convenient connections to key destinations across the country and beyond through Volaris' largest hub."
The Nashville route is one of several
that Volaris announced as part of its fall 2026 expansion. Others include Boston, Raleigh-Durham, Atlanta and Washington Dulles, all starting in October.
Volaris is Mexico's largest air carrier by volume, while Aeroméxico is the largest by fleet size and destinations. The company got its start in 2005 as a domestic airline and expanded into international flights with the U.S. market in 2009. Since then, its routes have gradually increased with Guadalajara developing into its central hub.
With the latest additions, Volaris has 65 destinations from Guadalajara and averages more than 100 daily flights out of the western Mexico airport.
"Guadalajara is one of the pillars of our connectivity strategy," Volaris Vice President of Operations Holger Blankenstein said. "From here, we are extending our wings to new U.S. cities so our customers can travel more, discover new destinations, visit their loved ones and take advantage of new opportunities, always with accessible fares, direct flights and the quality of service that defines Volaris."
Guadalajara will be Nashville International Airport's 13th international nonstop destination when it begins in October. BNA already has four more new international routes planned to launch after that, including St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Liberia-Guanacaste, Costa Rica; and Aruba all on Southwest Airlines. Those will take off in February and March of 2027.
Airfare to Guadalajara starts at $90, and tickets are available now.
"With the launch of five routes, Volaris strengthens Jalisco's connectivity to the United States through direct connections to strategic cities such as Washington, Atlanta, Raleigh, Boston and Nashville," Jalisco Secretary of Tourism Michelle Fridman Hirsch said in a statement. "This expansion represents an important step forward for the state, as it brings our destinations closer to key points and expands direct connection options to one of our main international markets."
