Alan Ritchson, the star of Amazon Prime Video’s hit series “Reacher,” announced on Sept. 12 that he and his wife, Catherine Ritchson, are ending their marriage after 20 years together.
The couple announced the split in a joint statement posted to Ritchson’s Instagram account. Ritchson lives in Brentwood.
“After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way,” the statement said.
The couple, who met as teenagers in Florida and married in May 2006, have three sons.
“We grew up together. We built a life and a family together,” the couple said in the announcement. “And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world.”
The couple said they plan to
remain friends and focus on co-parenting their children.
“The best gift we can give one another — and our boys — right now is friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be,” the statement said.

They also asked for privacy, saying they want to “give each other room to grow into the people we are becoming.”
“Change is hard enough without the whole world weighing in,” they said. “We hope, especially for the sake of our boys, that you will allow our family to move through this chapter with privacy and compassion.”
Ritchson, 43, plays former military investigator Jack Reacher in “Reacher,” based on Lee Child’s bestselling novels. He has also appeared in “Fast X,” “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” “Titans” and “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”
