Tennessee Titans fans are still allowed to obtain pregame signatures from players, a team spokesperson said in a clarification request from The Tennessean, after a fan reported they were denied the opportunity in Week 5.
A caller who identified as “Carter from Nashville” told Will Boling and Ramon Foster on 104.5 The Zone
on Oct. 12 that a stadium employee barred them from getting players' signatures before Tennessee played the Houston Texans on Oct. 11.The caller later added that they found an area to receive autographs from Titans long-snapper Morgan Cox and punter Tommy Townsend.
“Me and my dad go to at least four or five games a year, right?” the caller told Boling and Foster. “They usually, every single year I went, they let you get there
early and go down and get signatures. And yesterday we went down there to get signatures and they said, ‘No, you’re not allowed to go down there and get signatures anymore.'
“I don’t know why they wouldn’t let me. We got there two hours early and they wouldn’t let me get signatures.”
The call struck a nerve with some fans on social media. The Titans are 0-5 after a 26-3 loss to the Texans on Oct. 11.
A Titans spokesperson said they were not aware of the specific situation, but that fans are "allowed to seek autographs as long as they’re in their appropriate seats/sections,” which has been the policy in previous seasons, the spokesperson added. The team doesn’t want fans in other seats blocking access for ticket holders.
There are additional pre-game autograph opportunities in the South Plaza tailgate area with alumni players.
