A 16-year-old was the victim of a drive-by shooting in the Hadley Park neighborhood of Nashville after a football game at Pearl Cohn High School on Aug. 21, according to Metro Nashville Police.
Police identified the teen as Cameron Frierson.
The shooting occurred about 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, after the football game ended and most attendees had left. Pearl Cohn lost 34-20 to Montgomery Bell Academy in their first game of the season.
According to witnesses, shots were fired on Herman Street near 25th Avenue North, south of the Pearl Cohn football field. Shots came from a white sedan with tinted windows.
Officers from Metro's North Precinct found Frierson in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Frierson was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical
Center, where he died.
Police are investigating a motive for the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
