Creed took the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series points lead after the second Chase race, the Nu Way 225 on Sept. 12 at World Wide Technology Raceway.
Creed finished second behind winner Jesse Love to push into the points lead, three points ahead of Justin Allgaier.
Allgaier got damage during a spat between Corey Day and William Sawalich, requiring a late-race stop out-of-sequence. Allgaier drove back up to a 13th-place finish.
