Tennessee resident Brad Smith has been at the helm of two separate Nashville healthcare companies as they earned Inc. magazine recognition as the fastest-growing private businesses in the United States in recent years. The first was in 2023 with home health company Carebridge.
On Aug. 11, the magazine released its annual Inc. 5000 list naming Smith's Main Street Health as America's fastest-growing private business in 2026, according to median revenue growth rate since 2023. Main Street Health experienced 546,533% growth in its revenue and 116% employee growth over the last three years.
It is one of 104 Tennessee companies that landed on the Inc. 5000 list this year, including businesses across the healthcare, technology, logistics and entertainment
industries. Nationwide standouts include telehealth dietician Nourish, affiliate marketing platform Shop My, low-carb baked goods company Hero Bread, and the company that makes Surfside canned vodka lemonades.
In all, the Tennessee companies that made Inc.'s cut are responsible for $12.9 billion in total revenue and 35,965 employees across the state.
