Nashville's two leading goal scorers, Sam Surridge (13) and Hany Mukhtar (10), each scored in the win over Cincinnati. Goalkeeper Brian Schwake made six saves to earn his 10th clean sheet in league play.
New York City FC (7-8-7) are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference with 28 points. They are coming off a 1-1 draw with Toronto FC on Aug. 29.
