The Tennessee Titans placed right guards Fernando Carmona Jr. (ankle) and Jackson Slater (foot) on the injured reserve list on Sept. 29, the team announced.
It’s significant because the Titans lack depth at their spot. Carmona, a rookie out of Arkansas, won the job in the NFL preseason over Slater.
Tennessee elevated 6-foot-5, 320-pound rookie guard and former LSU lineman Garrett Dellinger to the active roster from the practice squad as a result.
Being on the injured reserve means a player with a football-related injury must miss a minimum of four games while being temporarily removed from the active 53-man roster.
The Titans also elevated fifth-year running back Michael Carter to the active roster. Titans coach Robert Saleh said after Week 3’s
game against the Giants that Tyjae Spears aggravated an ankle injury.
