Legacy Motor Club is getting closer to solidifying its 2027 driver lineup.
Riley Herbst is joining the organization's third full-time NASCAR Cup Series team in the No. 84 Toyota for the 2027 season, Legacy announced on Sept. 3.
Herbst, 27, will join Legacy Motor Club after two seasons at 23XI Racing.

Herbst joins Erik Jones in the organization under majority owner Jimmie Johnson.
Legacy has another Cup Series driver seat open after announcing on Sept. 2 that John Hunter Nemechek will not return next year in the No. 42 Toyota. The Athletic reported that Josh Berry is the "leading candidate" to land the ride.
A three-time O'Reilly Auto Parts Series winner, Herbst has improved in his second
Cup season after struggling during his rookie year. Herbst's average finish improved from 26.4 to 22.2 in 2026, and he has recorded three top-10 finishes this year after zero in 2025. Herbst missed last week's race at Daytona with "lingering effects" following a crash the previous week at New Hampshire.
