Early voting begins Oct. 14 ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections, and while only one municipal race — Fairview's mayoral contest — is on the ballot in Williamson County, several significant changes have brought added attention to this election cycle.
This election will be the first major statewide contest held under Tennessee's new redistricting maps, which split Memphis and Shelby County among three congressional districts and reshaped the state's political landscape. Voters will also make history by electing Tennessee's first female governor, with either Republican Marsha Blackburn or Democrat Jerrie Green seen as likely to become the state's first woman to hold the office.
Williamson County races on the ballet include:
U.S. House District 5
- Charlie Hatcher (R)
- Chaz Molder (D)
U.S. House District 9
- Justin J. Pearson (D)
- Brent Taylor (R)
Fairview mayoral contenders
- Lisa Anderson (current mayor)
- Chris McDonald
- Rick Shepherd
