Tennessee Titans linebacker Cedric Gray is expected to have cleared concussion protocol, per coach Robert Saleh, and should be available for the team's Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Gray missed the Titans' 23-10 season-opening loss against the New York Jets on Sept. 13 as he was recovering from injuries sustained in a UTV crash the week prior. The Tennessean spotted Gray on the practice field with his teammates during the stretch period of practice on Sept. 11, but Gray was still listed as a non-participant on the injury report.
Without Gray, the Titans turned to rookie Anthony Hill Jr., who impressed in his NFL debut. Hill finished Week 1 with 16 tackles and two pass breakups. His 16 tackles lead all NFL players in Week 1, while
his two PBUs both came on plays where the ball got into a receiver's hands and Hill was able to jar it loose with a well-timed punch.
Gray was the Titans' leading tackler and the NFL's fifth-leading tackler in 2025 with 160. A third-year defender out of North Carolina, Gray came into the offseason expected to be the Titans' No. 1 linebacker in a group that also includes Hill, veteran Cody Barton, fellow third-year player James Williams Sr., and special teams ace Dorian Mausi, who is on injured reserve for the time being.
