Now that the sophomores are official upperclassmen with a full year of high school experience, we are recognizing their growth and leadership.
To honor their efforts in guiding the incoming freshman class and helping them acclimate to the school community, our latest "Student of the Week" series highlights standout 10th graders from across Middle Tennessee.
Three students were nominated by administrators and faculty for this week's poll and now it's up to you to decide who wins.

The deadline to vote is noon, Sept. 17.
Abigail Hernandez, Hickman County High
JROTC cadet Abigail Hernandez exemplifies what it means to be a leader on and off the field, her nominator said. Whether wearing the JROTC uniform
or representing the school on the soccer field, she leads by example and encourages everyone around them to give their best. Beyond academics and athletics, Abby gives countless hours to serving and supporting the community. Her willingness to volunteer, help others, and make a positive difference demonstrates a level of character and selflessness that deserves recognition.
Annaston Taylor , Greenbrier High
Taylor is an exceptional sophomore leader who consistently makes a positive impact on our school community, her nominator said. As our sophomore FCA representative, she played a key role in planning and launching FCA PROVEN 2026 and has worked alongside fellow students to expand FCA’s influence through faculty appreciation initiatives, athletic team support, and community service projects. Whether she is excelling in the classroom, competing on the court, or serving others behind the scenes, she demonstrates outstanding character, kindness, and a genuine commitment to helping those around her.
Allie Lancaster , White House Heritage High
Allie is a great teammate and leader, her nominator said. She never fails to make everyone laugh, and she always brings such positive energy to everyone around her. She is a hardworking athlete, and she makes the most of every opportunity. I’m honored to have her in my program, and her team is lucky to have her!
