Nashville police identified the victim of the Aug. 1 deadly car crash as Timothy Wedlock, 58, of Australia.
The Saturday afternoon crash happened at the intersection of Broadway and 4th Avenue. Thomas Cahill, 87, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was driving south on 4th Avenue in a 2013 Ford Fusion when he ran the red light and struck multiple pedestrians who were using the crosswalk.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, police said, as investigators are working to determine the cause of the driver's actions. Cahill was in the car with his 90-year-old wife and her caretaker, who was in the backseat. The driver and his wife are hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
He did not show indicators of impairment, police said.
Three other pedestrians were struck by the car. They are identified by police as a 44-year-old man from Jacksonville, Florida, who is in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center; a 21-year-old woman from Knoxville, who has non-life-threatening injuries and a 58-year-old woman from Parsons, Tennessee, who is in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt.
