Week 5 of Tennessee high school sports wrapped up with TSSAA football on Sept. 18. It's time to vote for the plays of the week across the state.
This week's video submissions include high school football action . Vote now before the poll ends at noon on Sept. 25. To vote, watch the plays of the week video (top) and click on the image at the bottom of this article to make your selection.
Here's a breakdown of each play, an opportunity to vote for your favorite play and then a how-to for submitting your own video for Play of the Week consideration.
Lipscomb Academy football's perfect touchdown pass
Lipscomb Academy's Myles Teague put the ball where only Jaxon Spencer could catch it and the play resulted in a 14-yard touchdown in the first half of the Mustangs game against Ensworth on Sept. 18.
Smyrna football's last-second heroics
Smyrna
has learned to live on the edge during the 2026 football season with two one-point losses and beating two-time defending Class 6A state champs Oakland one a two-point conversion try. The Bulldogs did it again on Sept. 18 with a 41-yard Hail Mary completion from AJ Jackson to RJ Williams for a touchdown to beat Rockvale, 27-21.
A collision heard around the stadium
MBA running back David Mapangala powers his way into the end zone but not before he's met at the goal line by a Knoxville Catholic defender for a emphatic collision that drew an audible gasp from the crowd as MBA rolled to a 34-7 win over the Irish.
Field goal or no field goal for Lipscomb Academy? You decide
Lipscomb Academy kicker Tyson Robbins attempted a field goal from a free kick, a play seldom used in high school football. Officials ruled the kick no good despite protests from the Mustangs bench, including head coach Trent Dilfer.
Stephen Saulter touchdown hat trick for Pearl-Cohn football
LJ Funk goes deep down the field and finds Pearl-Cohn teammate Stephen Saulter for a 57-yard touchdown against Kenwood. It was Saulter's third touchdown grab of the night.
A little trickery from Knoxville Grace vs Webb
Knoxville Grace Christian quarterback Corbin Hobson throws to Terrion Thomas, who completes the double pass to Anderson Glover for a 29 yard touchdown in Grace Christian's 45-10 over Knoxville Webb.
