Former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel was in attendance at the Father Ryan's game against Riverdale in Nashville on Aug. 28.
Vrabel, who will begin his second season coaching in New England, was back
in Nashville to watch the Irish. His son, Tyler, is listed as a volunteer assistant coach under Father Ryan coach Zach Mettenberger. Riverdale rolled to a 45-3 win.
Father Ryan and Riverdale are both 1-1 this season.
Mike Vrabel's youngest son, Carter, attended Father Ryan before going on to play baseball at at Vol State and Tennessee Tech. Tyler Vrabel spent two seasons as a Boston College coaching assistant, where he played college football. Vrabel worked with the offensive line in his coaching role at Boston College.
Tyler Vrabel started 33 of 35 career games at Boston College.
Mike Vrabel coached the Titans from 2018-23 and led them to three playoff berths and two AFC South championships. He was named NFL Coach of the Year in 2021 after leading the Titans to the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
He was fired after the 2023 season after losing 18 of his final 24 games. He went 54-45 overall with the Titans.
Vrabel is entering his second season as the New England Patriots coach, where he led the team to a Super Bowl appearance this past season. The Patriots' preseason schedule wrapped up on Aug. 27 with a 37-13 loss to the Browns.
