A Lebanon movie theater being investigated for deteriorating conditions has made improvements though some concerns are lingering, according to police.
The Lebanon UEC Roxy theater at 200 Legends Drive, off Highway 231 is the subject of two investigations by city codes officials. The building’s interior is the focus of one codes investigation. The other targets the parking lot.
Frustrations about the theater’s condition has generated more than 1,000 signatures for an online petition seeking renovations.

“The inside needs a lot of work with screen updates and definitely seat upgrades,” said Bryant Felkins, who started the petition in July. “It’s just not getting any better no matter how hard I push.”
Codes inspectors reported that bathroom issues
had been corrected after inspectors found three women's toilets and one men's urinal were not working properly, according to Lebanon Police Department Public Information Officer Zach Patton.
Work was also ongoing to repair holes found in the walls at the entrances to eight theater hallways. Theater management said they hoped to have the seat covers installed by Christmas after inspectors found multiple torn and worn seats and food debris in between.
Outside, theater management had made significant progress on patching and repaving several areas of the parking lot. However, concerns remain regarding the overflow parking area on the north side of the lot near Legends Drive.
Management reported that nearby construction contractors have used the parking lot without authorization, causing damage. The city’s legal team advised theater management to consult with its own legal counsel and work toward a resolution with the contractors.
Efforts to reach theater management were not successful. Lebanon’s Board of Appeals and Adjustments voted to revisit the property’s progress on Dec. 17 meeting to review the status of the theater’s progress, police said. Codes officials will periodically check in with theater management to check on the status of the repairs.
