The NASCAR Cup Series Daytona race weekend begins with Coke Zero Sugar 400 qualifying on Aug. 28 at Daytona International Speedway.
The series has some rules changes to the cars for this weekend, an adjustment to the pack-racing car from earlier this season at Daytona and Talladega.
The series adjusted the horsepower and lowered the spoiler to promote more passing and curb some of the fuel-saving measures used over the last couple years.
The Chase field of 16 drivers will be set following the Aug. 29 race, with Austin Cindric and Shane van Gisbergen holding the final two spots. Ryan Preece is 31 points behind SVG for 16th.
41 cars are entered for 40 spots, so one open-entry car will miss the field.
