Classical music fans only have a few more chances to see the Nashville Symphony in concert this season.
The symphony's final shows for the foreseeable future will take place on Oct. 16 and 17.
On Sept. 28, the Nashville Symphony announced it will suspend the 2026-27 season effective Oct. 18, furloughing roughly half of its staff alongside all 77 members of the orchestra.
The Grammy Award-winning organization declared a state of "financial emergency" following the death of the symphony's longtime champion, Martha Ingram, whose contributions kept the organization afloat throughout multiple decades.
After announcing the furlough news, the symphony's CEO and president, Mark Cantrell, resigned.
New president Mark Tillinger replaced Cantrell.
