Taylor Swift will officially join the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame on Oct. 26, when the organization will induct its 2026 class and honor country music icon George Strait.
The 56th annual, invitation-only gala will take place at Music City Center, with Swift joining Lyle Lovett, Bruce Channel, Shawn Camp and Lee Thomas Miller as this year's inductees.
The ceremony will also honor Strait with the Career Maker Award, making him only the second recipient after Reba McEntire in 2018. The award recognizes artists outside the Hall whose careers have helped elevate the work of its songwriters.
"I'm so honored to be receiving the Career Maker Award from the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame," Strait said in a statement provided by the Hall. "I look
forward to being there with some of the most talented Hall of Fame songwriters I've been so lucky to be associated with throughout my career."
Swift's induction will mark her second songwriting Hall of Fame honor this year. In June, she became the youngest female songwriter ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York City.
"From the time I started writing songs as a child, I fixated on Nashville as the perfect place to be," Swift said when her induction was announced. "I wanted to learn with and from the best and get to immerse myself in a community of storytellers, and thankfully Nashville turned out to be exactly what I'd dreamed of. A town that validated and prioritized hard work, determination and imagination. Where the writers show up to work every day even when the mysterious muses and the magic don't. To be honored by this city I love so much is a beautiful thing, and I'm very grateful."
The Nashville gala is an invitation-only event celebrating its inductees with tributes and unplugged performances by surprise guest artists.
