Country stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are giving fans a chance to get their hands on an autographed guitar while supporting a good cause at the upcoming Nashville law enforcement showcase.
The country icons donated the guitar to the 19th Annual Law Enforcement Talent Showcase, which will take place on Oct. 29 at the Nashville the Nashville Palace. The guitar is item 309 in the silent auction.
“We love all our men and women in blue here in Nashville,” Brooks said in the video announcing the event. “This guitar, which is one of my husband’s favorites,” Yearwood added before telling fans it was personalized it to make the guitar “more like family.”
The auction offers fans a chance to own a piece of memorabilia from the country music power
couple while supporting crucial services for traumatized children in the Nashville area. Other items featured in the auction include a football autographed by Tennessee Titans player Tony Pollard and general admission tickets to Dollywood.
The annual Law Enforcement Talent Showcase brings together members of the law enforcement community for an evening of entertainment and fundraising in support of the Nashville Children's Alliance, a nonprofit that provides services to children impacted by abuse. The nonprofit helps them connect them with support services during the recovery process.
Hosted by Scuba Steve of "The Bobby Bones Show" and Sami Kincaid, the event will feature performances by Jelly Roll and Tucker Wetmore, in addition to a surprise guest and employees from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
Brooks also has a connection to Nashville law enforcement through his downtown bar, "Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk," which houses a police precinct. The downtown honky-tonk has become part of Brooks' footprint in Music City that extends beyond music.
Doors open for the event at 5 p.m. while the opening ceremony and show begin at 5:45 p.m.
The auction for the personalized Brooks and Yearwood guitar is now live. Bidders can view the guitar and other items in the silent auction online.
