Braylen Bedford commits to Ole Miss football, four-star DB from Brentwood Academy

Brentwood Academy four-star defensive back Braylen Bedford committed to Ole Miss football on Sept. 20, according to a post on his X account.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound Eagles standout is ranked No. 2 in the state for the Class of 2028 and sixth in the nation among safeties, according to 247Sports Composite. Bedford also held offers from Tennessee, Indiana, Oregon, LSU, Florida State, Michigan and Florida, among others.

Bedford transferred to Brentwood Academy in the offseason from Vardaman, Mississippi, where he recorded 69 tackles, three forced fumbles and an interception last season, while totaling 1,067 yards and seven touchdowns on offense.

This season he has helped guide Brentwood Academy to a 3-2 record. The Eagles travel to Ensworth on Sept.

25 for a Week 6 TSSAA football game.

During the preseason, Bedford was ranked No. 3 by The Tennessean in its list of the top 50 high school juniors in the state.
