A Fairview police officer was involved in a shooting Tuesday, Aug. 25 while responding to a call for service at the request of the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, according to a post made on the city’s Facebook page.
“During the response, an officer-involved shooting occurred. Charges for aggravated assault have been issues for the suspect in connection with the incident," city officials said in a statement.
Williamson County Sheriff's Department officials said in a statement that their agency was not involved in the shooting and Fairview responded due to their officers being closer.
“The incident occurred before any of our deputies were on scene,” WCSO said.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into the incident and no additional
information was made available for release at this time.
