A new fall festival packed with activities is coming to Mt. Juliet this October, with organizers hoping it becomes an annual tradition.
The first Mt. Juliet Fall Fest on Oct. 3 at Circle P Ranch aims to bring about 50 vendors along with food trucks, live music, farm demonstrations and more activities.
Organizers Katrina Bahr and Lindsay Hodlin took over the Main Street Market at Circle P Ranch in May. Circle P Ranch owner Rufus Page is also involved in the festival.
"Rufus has always wanted to find more ways to bring people out to the farm and give the community a place to slow down and spend time together," Bahr said. "Lindsay and I started talking about it, and we realized we were always driving to places like Franklin or Murfreesboro for the kinds
of community events we wanted to take our own families to. Eventually we just said, 'Why don’t we create that here?'"
The Mt. Juliet Fall Fest may be new, but it has a foundation.
Since taking over the store, Bahr and Hodlin launched a weekly Friday Night Market that has 20 to 30 vendors, live music and can draw 200 to 400 people, Bahr said.
The goal for the festival is to be “more than a vendor event.” Activities planned include:
- Pumpkin painting
- A giant pumpkin slingshot
- Tractor-pulled hayrides
- Sorghum Mill demonstrations
- Sawmill cutting demonstrations
- Petting zoo
Scarecrow Row will be a team competition to build the best scarecrow. Families, friends, schools, businesses can join together to participate.
