NASCAR points standings: Cup Series points update after New Hampshire race, Chase picture

The race for the final NASCAR Chase spot will go down to regular-season finale at Daytona.

Ryan Preece earned a ninth-place finish in the Dollar Tree 301 on Aug. 23 at New Hampshire to climb to within 31 points of Shane van Gisbergen for the final Chase spot.

SVG (20th) and Austin Cindric (12th) each had middling results at the 1.058-mile oval. Preece also earned 10 stage points to SVG's two points and Cindric's zero.
