Clarksville Police shot and wounded a man Sept. 14 after responding to a reported domestic disturbance on Fairview Lane just before 11 a.m.
A woman told dispatchers her adult son was outside with a gun and had already fired it once, according to a news release issued by the department just afternoon.
When police made contact with the man, gunfire was exchanged between him and responding officers, the release said.
The man was hit during the exchange and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Clarksville for treatment.
His condition was not immediately known, and his name has not been released.
No officers were injured.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the District Attorney’s Office have been notified and will investigate the circumstances
surrounding the officer-involved shooting, the release said.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
