Baylor freshman quarterback Marshall Manning, son of former NFL and Tennessee football great Peyton Manning, will miss the Red Raiders Week 2 game against Loudoun Sports Academy (Virginia) on Aug. 28, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
Manning suffered a foot injury and will "be out a few weeks", Baylor coach Erik Kimrey told The Times Free Press' Stephen Hargis.
Manning saw brief action in Baylor's season opener against Brentwood Academy on Aug. 20, a game televised by ESPN2. He came in for the Red Raiders' four-star quarterback, and Ole Miss commit, Keegan Croucher.
Manning completed an eight-yard pass to Antwaun Adams toward the Brentwood Academy sideline and then handed the ball off to David Gabriel Georges before Croucher returned
to the game. Baylor beat BA, 38-20.
The Red Raiders won't face another in-state opponent until it takes on Division II-AAA opponent CPA on Sept. 18. Baylor travels to Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Georgia) on Sept. 4 and then goes to Louisville, Kentucky face Trinity on Sept. 18.
