The Titans' captains for the 2026 season, which begins on Sept. 13 against the New York Jets at Nissan Stadium (noon CT, CBS) will be quarterback Cam Ward, defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons and long snapper Morgan Cox. Simmons is a Titans captain for the sixth consecutive year while Cox is in Year 4 as a captain and Ward is a captain for the second time.
In past years, the Titans named several captains from offense and defense. In 2025, for example, the Titans named seven captains, including returning players like WR Calvin Ridley, RB Tony Pollard, safety Amani Hooker and linebacker Cody Barton. The
Titans have had five or more captains in every season dating back to at least 2012.
Simmons is coming off an All-Pro season and is the Titans' most decorated defensive player when it comes to Pro Bowl appearances. The Titans rewarded him with a contract extension worth more than $100 million over the offseason.
Ward heads into his second year as the Titans' starting quarterback after the franchise selected him No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Cox has played for the Titans since 2021. He's a five-time Pro Bowl honoree, most recently in 2022.
