Did Baylor show enough in front of a national audience to prove they were the best high school football team in Tennessee?
It appears so.
This week's voters in the Tennessee Super 25 High School Football Rankings unanimously voted the Chattanooga boarding school as the No. 1 team in the state. Baylor defeated Brentwood Academy 38-30 on Aug. 20 on ESPN2 to open the 2026 TSSAA football season.
Brentwood Academy, which was ranked second, dropped to No. 3. Oakland moved up to No. 2.
The Super 25 statewide rankings are the top teams in Tennessee regardless of classification as voted as sports journalists from the USA TODAY Network from Tennessee.
