If you haven’t heard of Josh Johnson by now, you might be in danger of having your official Comedy Fan Card revoked.
In addition to being a rotating host on “The Daily Show,” which is up for an Emmy, and debuting an HBO special in May, Johnson just might be the most prodigious comic in the game.
Each Tuesday, the 36-year-old stand-up gives his 2.5 million YouTube subscribers almost an hour of new comedy – about one full-length special each week. What’s more, he writes completely different material for live shows.
Johnson will bring his two-show “Comedy Band Camp” to the Palace Theatre stage on July 31. The 7 p.m. performance is sold out,
and only rear balcony seats may remain for the 10 p.m. set.

This isn’t Johnson's first time filling all the seats in a Columbus venue. A two-nighter during his 2025 "Flowers" tour also brought sellout audiences to the Southern Theatre.
Audiences are in for an event probably unlike any comedy show they’ve seen. One spoiler: There will be a test, but it requires no studying and there are no wrong answers.
“Comedy Band Camp” is largely about community and camaraderie, so it’s safe to reveal that the experience will be a social gathering.
A colorful storyteller whose humor glides from politics to pop culture, Johnson lists George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Wanda Sykes and Bill Burr among his favorite comedians.
