Four Ohio Starbucks locations have now been identified for closure after the company announced plans in September to shutter around 250 stores across North America. The moves comes a year after a separate round of closures and corporate layoffs in September 2025.
Here's a look at the Ohio Starbucks locations identified to close so far.
Which 4 Ohio Starbucks locations are closing?
After Starbucks announced the move last week, news of confirmed store closures surfaced in dozens of states, including Ohio.
Two Columbus locations were identified first, followed by additional locations in Cleveland Heights and Oakwood, bringing the known total to four.
The following Ohio Starbucks locations are set to close:
- Cleveland Heights: 3093 Mayfield Road
- Columbus: 1014 N. High St.
- Columbus: 4015 Easton Station
- Oakwood: 23181 Broadway Ave.
When will the closures happen?
In a September message to employees, Starbucks Chief Operating Officer Mike Grams said affected
stores would begin closing late in the month.
According to an SEC filing, Starbucks' board approved the closures on Sept. 22 and expects most affected stores to shut down by the end of fiscal 2026.
Why is Starbucks closing 250 stores?
Grams said the stores were selected because they either failed to consistently deliver the customer and employee experience Starbucks expects or lacked "a path to acceptable financial performance."
In 2025, Starbucks closed three pickup-only locations in Ohio, including one in Columbus, one in Oxford and one in Hamilton.
How many Starbucks stores are in Ohio?
Starbucks operates 521 locations in Ohio, according to ScrapeHero. The company has not released a full list of affected stores, so it's unclear whether additional Ohio locations are slated to close.
