The Blue Jackets announced on Sept. 16 that Mike Priest will retire Sept. 30 from his positions as team president and alternate governor.
Priest has served 30 years with JMAC, Inc., the private holding company of majority owner John P. McConnell and the McConnell family.
"For three decades, Mike has been an invaluable member of the JMAC and Blue Jackets families and has played an integral role in helping shape both companies during periods of growth, change, and opportunity, and has done so with integrity, professionalism and a commitment to our staff, customers and fans," John H. McConnell II, chairman of JMAC Inc., said in a statement. "On behalf of my family and everyone
at JMAC and the Blue Jackets, I want to thank Mike for his contributions and unwavering dedication, and wish he and his family happiness and good health in the years ahead."
McConnell II, son of the team's majority owner and grandson of its original owner, John H. McConnell, will serve as president of JMAC, Inc. and the Blue Jackets, adding to his current role with the team as alternate governor. Priest will hold an advisory role through the end of the calendar year.
