Four indicted in mistaken slaying of Columbus teen, two suspects at-large

Four defendants were indicted Aug. 12 in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old male earlier this year on Columbus' East Side.

Christopher Cooper-Patton, 18, was shot on March 31 in the 1600 block of Elaine Road and transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital in critical condition, Columbus police said. Cooper-Patton, who played basketball and football in high school, was pronounced dead on April 4.

There was a second adult victim in the shooting, but police have not released any information about that person.

Columbus police said in a media release Aug. 12 announcing the indictments that they believe "the victims in this case were not the intended targets of this shooting. Tragically, they were simply unfortunate victims of mistaken identity."

Two

of the four suspects were arrested and are being held in the Franklin County Corrections Center.

All four suspects were indicted by a Franklin County grand jury, police announced in the releease.

Adairius D. Allison, 21, and Joshauan MD Harris, 24, were indicted on charges of aggravated murder, murder and felonious assault. They are at-large, police said.

Jordan S. Waugh, 25, and Aljurdon Gooch, 26, were both indicted on charges of aggravated murder and are in police custody.

If the at-large defendants are located by the public, they should call police immediately, the release states, as the individuals are "armed and extremely dangerous."
