A Columbus police officer was wounded during a standoff with a male with two guns on the city's East Side.
Police responded about 6:40 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, to the 4500 block of Errington Road, just northeast
of the intersection of South Hamilton near East Livingston Avenue, where they found a male who was holding two handguns to his head, according to a witness video reviewed by The Dispatch.
Officers drew their weapons and a shot was fired, though it was unclear by whom. One officer was grazed and transported to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, Downtown, for treatment, according to an X post by Brian Steel, president of Fraternal Order of Police Dewey Stokes Capital City Lodge No. 9.
Officers returned fire on the male with the guns, and his condition was not immediately known. Sgt. Joe Albert, a Columbus police spokesperson, was en route to the scene.
