Ohio State is set to wear white alternate uniforms when it visits Iowa on Oct. 3, a school spokesperson confirmed.

It was a decision made by team captains and will mark the first time this season that the Buckeyes will deviate from their traditional home or away look.

The Buckeyes last donned white jerseys and pants with their gray helmet at Oregon in 2024. They also wore the all-white combination at Michigan State in 2020.

The jerseys include the new shoulder stripes, known as Buckeye stripes, that Ohio State added this year.

Ohio State’s game at Iowa is one of the more anticipated matchups this week, bringing a visit from ESPN’s “College GameDay” program to Iowa City.

Not only are the Buckeyes ranked No. 6 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, but the Hawkeyes are also up to No. 14 and remain unbeaten following their last-second win at Michigan.

The Buckeyes have not traveled to Iowa since their 55-24 loss in 2017.
