Is it really the economy, or are the pollsters just stupid?
Poll afterpoll- an August one fromFox News, Democratic-leaning Beacon Research and Republican-leaning Shaw & Company Research included- says that inflation and the economy are the most important issues to Ohioans as we barrel toward the Nov. 3 midterm election.
It is an important election.
At the top of the ticket, Dr. Amy Acton, a Democrat, is squaring off against billionaire businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican. A tier down, Sen. Jon Husted, a Republican, is hoping to fend off Sherrod Brown, a Democrat and former senator.
We asked 10 voters, members of the Dispatch Editorial Board Advisors,their thoughts on the economy and
inflation and what they wish the candidates would tell them.
In the video above, they share what they've heard from other Ohioans and the impact tariffs and other economic pressures have on their own lives.
The conversation ran the gamut from economic anger to the price of groceries to the national debt.
