A vehicle struck and killed a 5-year-old girl late July 31 just outside of Reynoldsburg.
Gem Scott was crossing East Broad Street with her family around 11:12 p.m. near the intersection with Outerbelt Street when a car traveling eastbound struck her, according to a press release from Columbus Police.
Medics took the girl to nearby Mount Carmel East in critical condition, where doctors later pronounced her as deceased.
The driver, whom police did not identify in an initial press release, stayed an the scene and cooperated with investigators.
