Significant rainfall on already saturated ground has led to road closures across central Ohio.
On Aug. 20, the National Weather Service issued a flood warning for portions of the area, including Franklin, Fairfield, Licking and Delaware counties because of the rainfall. The warning lasts through 4:15 p.m. Aug. 20.
Estimated rainfall totals have ranged from about 1.5-4.5 inches in the region.
Western Licking County has been hit particularly hard by the most recent round of storms. Parts of Pataskala are flooded, and the weather service issued a flood warning for the South Fork of the Licking River.
Columbus activated the floodwall in Franklinton and the floodgates on Greenlawn Avenue.
Road closures can be expected to continue as water recedes.
