A teenage girl has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting on Columbus' Far West Side that police say stemmed from a dispute.
The suspect, a 17-year-old girl whom The Dispatch is not naming at this time, has been charged in the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Mohamed Musa Mohamed around 11:32 p.m. Aug. 30, according to Columbus police. However, police did not identify the juvenile charges against her.
Officers responded to the 4900 block of Lion Drive on a report of a shooting. On arrival, officers found Mohamed suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. Medics with the Franklin Township Fire Department transported Mohamed in critical condition to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:16 a.m., police said.
Detectives identified
the 17-year-old as a suspect and later interviewed her. The shooting stemmed from a dispute, police said, but they did not provide additional details, including what the teenage girl's relationship was to Mohamed.
The 17-year-old was placed in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Facility after being interviewed by police.
