A Pickerington man has been indicted in a fatal vehicle crash that killed a 79-year-old man in June on Columbus' South Side.
Edward Elliiot, 57, faces two charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and one
charge of felony hit and run, according to a Sept. 4 media release from the Columbus police Accident Investigation Unit.
Police alleged that at 2:17 p.m. June 25, Kenneth James was driving a 2023 Can Am Ryder, a three-wheeled motorcycle, west through a parking lot behind a building in the 3700 block of South High Street. At the same time, Elliot was driving a 2012 Cadillac SRX south in the parking lot. The Cadillac hit the right rear of the Can Am and caused James to lose control, police allege.
James was thrown off the Ryder and later taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, where a doctor pronounced him dead at 6:15 p.m., police said.
A Franklin County grand jury indicted Elliot in August. He is being represented by defense attorney Sam Shamansky, according to Franklin County Common Pleas Court filings.
