Two quiet guys from Ohio who earned standing ovations on “America’s Got Talent” are paying the kudos forward to their hometown.
Bird and Byron, the soulful duo of Blake Bergere and Nick Lorenz, credit the Columbus community for backing them during their run on the NBC talent competition.
The pair made it to the Sept. 8 quarterfinals, where judges Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum jumped to their feet, and Mandel compared their sound to “savoring a fine wine.”
To thank their supporters, Bird and Byron – now based in Nashville – are coming home to host a bash they hope will become annual. The inaugural Steadyrock Community Jubilee is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at Land-Grant Brewing Co., 424 W. Town St.
Held in partnership with 97.9 WNCI and Experience Columbus,
the event will include live music and a vintage vendor while drumming up support for community organizations.
The evening will be anchored by a “super jam” featuring Columbus musicians and vocalists playing with Bird and Byron’s band, The Steadyrocks.

Fans can also enter a raffle for a drum kit donated by Loyal to the Craft, with equipment provided by Music Columbus through Columbus Percussion. Proceeds will benefit The Kids Mental Health Foundation.
The raffle is open at event.gives/steadyrock until 11:59 p.m. Oct. 16.
Admission to the Steadyrock Community Jubilee is free, but tickets must be reserved online.
The jubilee comes ahead of Bird and Byron’s return to A&R Music Bar on Dec. 11 featuring supporting artist Adam Paddock.
