A coffee chain that has grown from the Pacific Northwest to nearly 1,300 locations in 27 states will arrive in the Columbus market by the end of 2026.
Dutch Bros Coffee, where hot, iced and frozen coffee drinks share the menu with teas, smoothies, juices, and a house line of sodas and energy drinks, has three shops in the works in New Albany, near Westerville, and beyond Columbus' Far West Side.
The latter, the first scheduled to open at 5244 W. Broad St. in Prairie Township near Columbus' Far West Side, should begin serving customers by the end of the year, a spokeswoman for the Arizona-based company told The Dispatch.
Another Dutch Bros location, at 9930 Johnstown Road (U.S. 62) in New Albany, near hotels just northeast of the Smiths Mill Road/Walton
Parkway intersection, also should open this year, the spokeswoman said.
Construction is just beginning for the third on the site of a former car wash at 5939 Sunbury Road in the Sunbury Plaza anchored by a Kroger store, just north of State Route 161 in Blendon Township. That shop will open in early 2027, according to the company.
Dutch Bros. was started by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma in 1992 in Grants Pass, Oregon. The company currently has some 1,300 locations in 27 states. There are currently five locations in Ohio: two in Cincinnati, two in Dayton and one in the Cincinnati suburb of Milford.
