More pieces to the Blue Jackets' TV puzzle were revealed Sept. 2 by the team and NHL, which will now produce local broadcasts.
Games will be aired on the Blue Jackets Hockey Network, which will be available through cable and satellite providers along with a multi-year, exclusive streaming agreement on Amazon's Prime Video service. The team is still hashing out which cable and satellite providers will carry the network and will announce specifics at a later date.
Those interested in the Prime Video option can subscribe at $19.99 per month or $99.99 annually, which is the same pricing scale charged for streaming by FanDuel Sports Network last season. Setting up
a free Amazon account is all that's required, but those already paying for Amazon Prime will be charged on top of the price for that service.
The broadcasts will include a 30-minute pregame show, postgame show and the return of all on-air talents that did Blue Jackets games last season, including Steve Mears (play-by-play), Jody Shelley (analyst), Brian Giesenschlag (host), Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre (pre-and-postgame analyst) and Dave Maetzold (reporter/host).
This is a developing story.
