For the fourth time in less than two months, a craft brewery is shutting down a taproom in the Columbus area.
The latest, Endeavor Brewing & Spirits, will close its original location at 909 W. 5th Ave. near Grandview Heights on Oct. 29. Barrel & Bloom, a coffeehouse and bar that the company opened in Linworth in September 2025, will remain open, owners said in an Instagram post Oct. 22.
Endeavor, founded in 2017 by three friends whose beers evoked memories of their world travels, expanded into distilling three years later. The company now produces a line of eight styles of vodka, gin, rum and whiskey and has eight beers on tap.
Although the Grandview-area taproom will be closed to daily customers, it will continue to host private events through
the holiday season. Owners said they also plan to host a farewell gathering – no details have been announced yet – for "the long list of patrons, partners and friends we have met along the way."
Barrel & Bloom will continue serving Endeavor beers and spirits, according to the post.
The announcement from Endeavor comes after Nocterra Brewing suspended operations in Columbus and Powell on Aug. 31, and its owners issued statements saying they were "out of runway to keep fighting" through financial difficulties.
In September, Outerbelt Brewing in the Fairfield County village of Carroll and Hoster Brewing on Columbus' East Side both announced plans to close. Outerbelt shut down Oct. 5, and Hoster's last day in business is set for Oct. 31.
Nocterra, where owners said that they hoped to "regroup, reorganize and re-emerge," has since filed to renew its state permits to brew and sell beer in Powell, but not at its Columbus location inside the Scioto Audubon Metro Park, as previously reported by The Dispatch.
Outerbelt's owners have said they are seeking a buyer for their property between Canal Winchester and Lancaster.
