Shameful and disgraceful
In a pathetic attempt to disparage former Sen. Sherrod Brown, the National Republican Senatorial Committee ran an ad for John Husted using a photo of a family that had been tragically killed in an auto accident. They ran it without the family's consent.
Then, they tried to link Sherrod Brown to the driver responsible for the family's deaths, saying the driver was an illegal immigrant, so somehow it was Sen. Brown's fault, too. Though the driver was originally from another country, he had been living here 20 years and had become a U.S. citizen.
Anyone responsible for a traffic fatality should be held accountable. But to generalize that all immigrants are criminals is racist.
To capitalize on a family's pain and grief for political gain is shameful and disgraceful. All that TV ad told me was that John Husted's lack of humanity and racism are on full display. No wonder he's not stepping up for the Haitian community. Anyone with that much dishonor forfeits the right to represent the people of the great state of Ohio. Show Husted the door.
Vote for Sherrod Brown.
