A Headless Horseman sighting may be in store when All Hallows’ Eve returns to Ohio Village this month.
The Ohio History Connection will hold the Halloween event from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 24 at Ohio Village, 800 E. 17th Ave. The village is reopening for the event while renovations continue on the site.
Visitors can hear a bonfire retelling of Washington Irving’s "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," encounter costumed characters and take part in crafts, games and dancing. The program also includes fortune telling and a look at 19th-century funeral practices. Pumpkin painting costs an additional $5 per pumpkin.

All Hallows’ Eve has been on hiatus for two years because of the Ohio Village renovation. During that time, the organization held a different
Halloween event, Fright at the Museum, inside the Ohio History Center.
The village's work is part of a broader renovation of the Ohio History Connection’s campus, with construction expected to continue into 2027, according to a news release.
The nearby Ohio History Center museum is closed through early December for building-system upgrades, but the Ohio History Connection says the All Hallows’ Eve events at Ohio Village will go ahead as scheduled.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $14 for children ages 4 to 12. Members pay $13 and $9, respectively, and children 3 and younger get in free.
Advance tickets are required through the Ohio History Connection’s event page. Tickets are on sale for nonmebers.
