A man died on Columbus' West Side after he was assaulted, then hit by a vehicle, police said.
Police responded to a crash about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 15 near Sullivant Avenue and Binns Boulevard, on the edge of the Hilltop neighborhood, according to a Columbus police news release.
Officers found that a vehicle had hit Kyle Cooper, 30, on Sullivant Avenue. Medics took him to a local hospital, where he died at 10:02 p.m.
Police determined a man had assaulted Cooper and left him in the road, according to the news release. Officers found Michon Minyard, 32, nearby and arrested him on charges of murder and felonious assault.
The driver who hit Cooper remained at the scene and was not charged, police said.
