On Aug. 5, 2026, Tiffany LeSueur, 35, pleaded guilty to endangering children.

Woman accused of injecting feces into child's IV at Nationwide Children's
Correction: An earlier version of this story included incorrect information about who investigators say witnessed Tiffany Lesueur inject a substance into her baby's IV line.
A northwest Ohio woman is accused of using a syringe to inject human feces into the IV line of her baby while the baby was being treated at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, according to a criminal complaint filed by Columbus police.
Tiffany Lesueur, 35, of Maumee, a Toledo suburb,
has been charged with endangering children, a third-degree felony, in the incident, which happened Feb. 8 at Nationwide Children's Hospital, according to the criminal complaint.
At around 4:30 p.m. Feb. 6, staff with Nationwide Children's Hospital contacted a Columbus officer with the Physical Abuse Unit and told the officer that an infant was being abused by its biological mother, identified as Lesueur. The staff at Nationwide told the officer that in the future, Lesueur would be monitored during all visits, according to the complaint.
At around 8:45 p.m. Feb. 8, a Columbus police officer with the Domestic Violence Unit was contacted by another Columbus officer who said Nationwide Children's Hospital staff saw Lesueur use a syringe to inject a "foreign substance" believed to be human waste into her baby's IV line, the complaint states.
Lesueur was detained by police at the hospital while Nationwide staff immediately treated the infant, the complaint states.
It was unclear from the police complaint or court records why the baby was being treated at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.
The Dispatch has reached out to Nationwide Children's in an effort to find out the baby's condition, but a hospital spokeperson declined comment, citing federal patient privacy law.
Two detectives responded to the hospital and interviewed hospital staff following the incident, according to the complaint.
Hospital staff told detectives they reviewed video surveillance of Lesueur going into the bathroom with a cup and later coming out with what appeared to be fecal matter in the cup. Hospital staff then told detectives that Lesueur took a syringe and injected the fecal matter into the IV line of her baby's top left hand, the complaint states.
Lesueur was arraigned Feb. 9 in Franklin County Municipal Court, according to court filings. A Franklin County judge ordered her held in the county jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond. She remained incarcerated there as of late afternoon Feb. 10. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 19.
