Olentangy Orange sophomore girls golfer Amelia Buettner carded one of the best rounds in central Ohio history Aug. 25, shooting an 11-under par 61 to win Dublin Coffman’s Lady Rocks Invitational at the Golf Club of Dublin.
Buettner’s round included nine birdies, three of which were in her first four holes, and an eagle on the 266-yard, par-4 No. 15.
Buettner, who started on No. 11, birdied Nos. 2, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14 and 18.
She won the event by six shots over Dublin Jerome junior Nikitha Suresh. They were the only players to finish below par, but 11 players shot 75 or better and seven more finished below 80.
Jerome, the defending Division I state champions, won the team title (3-under 285). Orange was second (295).
Buettner had five rounds in
the 60s as a freshman.
This round tied the 61 shot by Olentangy’s Jodie Han during her team’s invitational Sept. 4, 2025, at Oakhaven. Han is a junior.
Both were one shot shy of New Albany’s Kary Hollenbaugh, whose round of 60 during Centerville’s Lady Elk Invitational at The Golf Club at Yankee Trace on Aug. 16, 2021, included a hole-in-one.
Hollenbaugh went on to star at Ohio State and is now on the Epson Tour.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association does not list regular-season records for golf.
