Ohio State football dominated Ball State in starting the season as the nation's No. 1-ranked team and so remains at the top of the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith led the Buckeyes to a 56-3 win over the Cardinals
on Sept. 5. Sayin threw for 320 yards and three touchdowns, while also scoring his first rushing touchdown as a Buckeye. Smith recorded 151 yards and two touchdowns on eight receptions.The Buckeyes opened the season ranked No. 1 in both the Coaches and AP polls for the first time since 2015.
Ohio State's upcoming opponent, Texas, jumped one spot to No. 3 in the Coaches Poll after defeating Texas State 59-7. The Buckeyes travel to Austin to face the Longhorns on Sept. 12, marking Ohio State's first of six matchups
against preseason top-25 teams this year.
